The picture spans an extraordinary artistic bridge. It combines traditional Japanese and European enamelling techniques. The different layers of enamel with their opaque and transparent effect give the picture depth and dimensionality.

A female face appears between lily-like flowers and tendrils, looking expectantly and calm. The gold that frames the eyes and other facial openings and the face as a whole reveals external and internal brilliance. But it remains attenuated by the glow of the blossoms and contained by the shadow of the soft light. 

The dimension of the image is 26.5 cm x 26.5 cm and it is worked on silver-plated copper. 22 carat gold leave was used for this artwork. 

This enamel art panel is a unique work of art. The design is by Rolf Strauch, Emaille Art. The board was specially made by Ando Cloisonne, Japan’s world-renowned enamel manufacturer. It is an expression of the great Japanese tradition of craftsmanship.
